Simmons Natural Bodycare is a family business that is part of a working homestead in the rural mountains of Northern California. Since 1982 we have crafted and sold fine soaps in an environmentally conscious way. Our home and business are off grid, making our own power from solar, wind and micro-hydro.
Above and beyond that we offset our carbon footprint twice - once by planting trees and again by supporting energy conservation and renewable energy projects through CarbonFund.org.
In addition, a tree is planted for every 12 bars of soap sold through Trees for the Future and a percentage of the sales of our soaps is donated to Heifer International to help end hunger and care for the Earth.
We volunteer in our community and support local businesses and organizations any way we can. Working toward a sustainable community, future, and world. | | Did You Know:
Today, most of the so called 'soap'
in stores is not 'true' soap. Most of
these body cleansers are actually
synthetic detergent products
regulated by the FDA . While they
suds, clean, and do not leave a
residue, they are not 'true' soap,
even though they are marketed as
such. Some of these products may
cause skin irritation or allergies.
Fortunately there are a growing
number of small handcrafted
businesses producing true soap
from natural ingredients, soaps that
are safe for you and the
environment. |
