Crazy as a Loom Weaving Studio Report Card

Blog - Crazy as a Loom Weaving Studio
Description:

I weave rag rugs from recycled blue jeans, sock seconds, toe clips from socks, mill ends of fabric, upholstery selvedge, and other textile waste. I take pride in creating beautiful and functional floor coverings from textiles that would otherwise end up in the landfill. All weaving is done the old fashioned way, with manual floor looms.

Location: Hudson Falls, NY
Above & Beyond:

Crazy as a Loom Weaving Studio is committed to recycling textile waste to make functional and beautiful floor coverings, and other household woven items. There is no sweat shop labor, all rugs are woven in the studio by this weaver. The looms are manual floor looms, no gas or electricity or any other fuel is used. Cast off blue jeans, mill ends, upholstery selvedges, textile waste, sock seconds, toe clips, and more are used in the process of recycling leftovers from the textile industry into rugs, keeping tons of materials from going into the landfill, and producing quality goods from them.
