Gifts With Humanity (a brand name of Global Crafts) is a partner of the Carbon Fund (carbonfund.org), our US warehouse is carbon neutral, through the use of carbon offsets.
We have also taken some major redesign steps in or warehouse to reduce our power consumption; in 2007 we estimate we will use 30% less power than in 2006 despite a 40% increase in sales.
We are proud to be recognized as a Fair Trade Organization, by the International Fair Trade Association (IFAT.org). After extensive monitoring and evaluation we were admitted in 2006 and achieved FTO status in 2007. | | Did You Know:
The Flower industry is worth $21 billion a year in the US alone, seventy nine percent of the flowers sold in the USA are imported from countries such as Ecuador and Columbia, where the climate is mild and the pay scale low.
Gifts with Humanity is now importing and selling flowers handcrafted from recycled newspapers and phone books collected from slums in Bangkok, Thailand. These pieces of art, are comparable in price, do not die and actually have a positive impact on the
planet.
